Pass the Parcel again, Premier and Minister Lucas. What else is new?

These credible suggestions below by Tony Morris QC are almost 4 years old. To read the full report go to the right of the website and click on ( 9 ).
SING ASKS: WHAT ELSE IS NEW?
Click on document to view.

Once again the game of PASS THE PARCEL is being played by the Crime and Misconduct Commission ( CMC ) and Queensland Health (Qld Health).

Once again a credible nurse comes forward with irrefutable evidence of wrongdoing at Bundaberg Hospital and instead of investigating the serious allegations, the Crime and Misconduct Commission ( CMC ) and Queensland Health ( Qld Health ) play the game they love best - PASS THE PARCEL.

You must remember this game Premier and Minister Lucas. The game where the parcel is wrapped in many pieces of wrapping paper and it is passed on to someone - anyone else - until the music stops. One layer of paper is removed by that person, and then the music begins again. When all the wrapping paper is removed - the last person is the winner and receives the prize.

But Public Interest Whistleblowers never win the prize, Premier - because the game is deliberately geared against them. Qld Health and the CMC's websites should read:
DISCREDIT - DELAY - DECEIVE - DEMORALISE - DENY. IF THAT FAILS - DESTROY. For good measure now and again throw in the CODE OF CONDUCT ( COVER UP ). But in the meantime keep the Public Interest Whistleblower so distressed that they will simply disappear. To enable this destruction of Public Interest Whistleblowers to come to fruition, first and foremost CMC and Qld Health - become excellent players of PASS THE PARCEL.

KEEP YOUR HEAD HELD UP HIGH, CHRISTINE CAMERON, AND CONTINUE THE GOOD FIGHT FOR THE COMMON GOOD AND IN THE PUBLIC INTEREST.
Please view articles and Rob Messenger's website link ( 8 )on the right side of SING under Links and Relevant articles.

SING WILL POST ANOTHER CHRONOLOGY OF EVENTS WHICH IS BEING PLAYED OUT RIGHT NOW BETWEEN THE CMC, QLD HEALTH AND THE UNLAWFULLY SACKED PUBLIC INTEREST WHISTLEBLOWER. THIS MATTER INVOLVES A COMPLAINT OF REPRISAL MADE BY THE SACKED WHISTLEBLOWER, AGAINST THE DIRECTOR - GENERAL OF QLD HEALTH AND TWO OTHERS. THIS COMPLAINT WAS MADE TO THE QUEENSLAND POLICE SERVICE ( QPS )ON THE 4 APRIL 2009. QPS PASSED THE PARCEL TO THE CMC. THE CMC PASSED THE PARCEL BACK TO QLD HEALTH. PASS THE PARCEL IS NOW BEING PLAYED IN ERNEST.

A REVIEW BY THE ETHICAL STANDARDS UNIT WAS TO BE COMPLETED IN SEPTEMBER 2009. THE PUBLIC INTEREST WHISTLEBLOWER HAS NOW BEEN INFORMED BY THE ETHICAL STANDARDS UNIT ( ESU ) THAT SHE WILL NOW HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL 2010 FOR AN OUTCOME. THIS IS A COMMON PLOY BY THE ESU AND QLD HEALTH. DELAY MATTERS LONG ENOUGH TO REWRITE HISTORY, TO THREATEN POTENTIAL WITNESSES AND TO COVER UP THE TRUTH.

BRING ON A ROYAL COMMISSION. THE IRREFUTABLE EVIDENCE GATHERED BY MANY IS OVERWHELMING, CREDIBLE AND SIGNIFICANT.

  1. I have read your post above.
I do think that you are being a bit hard on the politicans. They can only act within their authority. They are not responsible for individual peoples actions - like to actions of people in the workplace. What does the Premier or Paul Lucas have to do with actions of individual people!

May I suggest that you need a strategy to approach this issue? I would also point that it is difficult to fight the system - it is better to work within it. Have you read a psychology textbook including organisational psychology textbooks for information. Everyone knows how whistlebowers are treated - it is because they are afraid of them. If you choice to take action you need to be ready to be victimised. Who said life was fair!

  2. Recently, off the top of my head, I was able to come up with 9 politicians with whom I met regarding abuse of residents at Eventide, Brighton. One is now in prison. He was found guilty of corruption.

Politicians are not responsible for individual actions - they are however, accountable to the general public.

You state that "everyone knows how Whistleblowers are treated". I would suggest to you that everyone does not know how Whistleblowers are treated, but due to quality media like SBS filming LAW AND DISORDER and websites like SING - the general public are now, thankfully, much more fully informed.

To my knowledge it was a politician who refused to take action in the Kessing case.

Your comment that "If you take action you need to be ready to be victimised" is interesting. It appears that you acknowledge the reporting system is flawed, but you advise that people work within it. You also appear to be acknowledging that "it is difficult to fight the system". So the question to you is " Aren't the only people able to change legislation, politicians?

Judging by the emails to this website since the Law and Disorder programme aired, the general public now know the despicable actions taken against Public Interest Whistleblowers when they speak out. But the general public are also acutely aware that they are the people who ultimately have the last say at election time.

To all those thinking of speaking out in the public interest and exposing wrong doing - contact quality media - this also includes pro active websites.

  3. Dear SING,
If you ask around everyone is aware of how people get treated if they dob at work! I do not think people are naive. As for politicans how can they assist in stopping individual actions! Look at what has been in the newpaper regarding the RCH over the last few days in relation to finiancial mismanagement. Did someone report that or did it come up in a audit?
As someone who has gotten a hard time at work as well I think that you are naive and you ignore simple psychology. There are many psychopaths in the workplace who will do you over for bonus points with the boss if you are a unpopular dobber. This clearly happened to you as demonstrated on your website with that AIN writing a non specific statement about you. I know where you are coming from however different people protest in different ways about how dobbers are treated when trying to "do good". I speak from experience!
    Kind Regards

  4. Dear Kind Regards
Thank you for your input. If you speak from experience then you would be very well aware that the labeling of Public Interest Whistleblowers as "Dobbers" is very, very offensive.

  5. I am an AIN, i get treated with contempt on a daily basis. I would like to see a NUM or RN do hands on and get to know there client? Dobber is a harsh word. We care about these people that we care for. If we speak up we get crucified. I have witnessed 90+ year old elderly propped up in chairs from 7am till 8pm at night. I spoke with management about this and they told me it is part of there pressure area care. Welcome to an aged care facility?

  6. Christine Cameron is a wonderful brave person, she did everything right in reporting abuse of 3 patients. Karen also didn't deserve being sacked like myself for protecting the elderly. As for the politians, well I have dealt with many like Karen and Christine and they are accountable to protect the Elderly, especially the health Minister Mr Lucas. It is great to see numerous whistleblowers speaking out. Keep up the great work Sing and Karen

  7. Here hoping that I will not be sacked!

  8. Good for you Karen. Nothing has changed at Eventide. The corruption still goes on. Nothing new there. There are so many people in hierarchy and administration? Hands on staff are cut continuously and lifting equipment is out dated. Why do we need so many management positions for so few residents? Shame on QHealth and the politicians for allowing these people to get big salaries for doing not much. Maybe the residents would benefit by getting a decent meal it more money flowed there way?
