SING WELCOMES WHISTLEBLOWING WOMAN JO BARBER TO THE WONDERFUL GAMES PLAYED BY QUEENSLAND HEALTH, THE CMC AND OTHERS CALLED 'PASS THE PARCEL' AND 'SHOOT THE MESSENGER'.

SING WILL SHOW YOU HOW THE GAMES OF 'PASS THE PARCEL' AND 'SHOOT THE MESSENGER' ARE PLAYED. JUST LOOK AT THE CASES ON SING'S WEBSITE AND PERHAPS GO BACK TO SOME OF THE OLDER POSTS.

'SHOOTING THE MESSENGER' IS PLAYED BY QUEENSLAND HEALTH (QH) AND OTHER ENTITIES AND HAS BECOME AN ART FORM DEVELOPED OVER MANY YEARS. PUBLIC INTEREST WHISTLEBLOWERS (PIW) ARE OF NO CONCERN. QH HAS UNLIMITED TAXPAYERS MONEY TO MAKE SURE THAT IF YOU STICK YOUR HEAD UP AND SPEAK OUT - YOU ARE ALMOST CERTAINLY GUARANTEED TO HAVE IT CHOPPED OFF.  IN FACT IF A PIW OR INFORMANT  BECOMES A THORN IN THEIR SIDE, THEY WILL REMOVE YOU VERY SWIFTLY. YOU MAY EVEN BE INVESTIGATED BY  PRIVATE CONSULTANCY GROUPS PAID FOR BY THE TAXPAYER. PLEASE NOTE: YOU WILL BE INVESTIGATED - NOT THE WRONGDOING.
THE MESSAGE IS LOUD AND CLEAR: IGNORE IT, DON'T REPORT IT not REPORT IT, DON'T IGNORE IT. THE PROPAGANDA ISSUED BY QUEENSLAND HEALTH TO STAFF STATES OTHERWISE, BUT WE ALL EVENTUALLY GET THE MESSAGE. OF COURSE YOU WILL BE ENCOURAGED BY THOSE IN POSITIONS OF POWER TO SPEAK OUT AND TOLD IT IS YOUR 'DUTY OF CARE' OR YOUR 'OBLIGATION' TO REPORT WRONGDOING. ONCE YOU BEGIN YOUR JOURNEY THE FUN BEGINS. YOU WILL BE LED TO BELIEVE THAT YOUR DISCLOSURES ARE BEING TREATED SERIOUSLY. MANY MONTHS, SOMETIMES YEARS, WILL GO BY AND STILL YOU WILL BELIEVE THAT YOUR MATTERS ARE BEING TAKEN SERIOUSLY. IN THE MEANTIME THE WRONGDOERS WILL REMAIN IN PLACE OR MAY EVEN BE PROMOTED, WHILST YOUR OWN HEALTH DETERIORATES.

'PASS THE PARCEL' IS ANOTHER GAME THAT THE CRIME AND MISCONDUCT COMMISSION (CMC), QH, THE ESU AND OTHER ENTITIES YOU MAY BE PASSED ONTO,  PLAY VERY WELL.

FOR THOSE FAMILIAR WITH THIS WEBSITE THESE GAMES ARE NOT NEW.
FOR THOSE WHO ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THIS WEBSITE, PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF HOW THESE GAMES, PLAYED BY THOSE IS POSITIONS OF POWER, CAN DISCREDIT, DECEIVE, DELAY AND DESTROY PUBLIC INTEREST WHISTLEBLOWERS OR THOSE WHO HAVE THE AUDACITY TO SPEAK OUT.

SING ASKS ONCE AGAIN 'WHAT ELSE IS NEW'?

  1. My advocacy efforts may be a little left-field of your current perspective, however; as my efforts are in the public's best interest, they will complement your interests:

    Please read my submission to the McKeon Review into Health and Medical Research (mckeonreview.org.au); submission number 296, Cris Kerr, Case Health.

  2. SING's website began in the public interest and for the common good. The general public, employees desperate to disclose wrongdoing and distressed family members also need to know the very real pitfalls of a flawed system.
    For this new government and those supporting Public Interest Whistleblowers or informants to refer serious matters back to the very entities who disregarded their disclosures in the first instance, is NOT in the public interest nor for the common good.
    Be prepared to have some of the following excuses given by the entities to whom you are referred: clerical errors, lost documents, lost complaints etc. This is the normal response to those who have produced evidence that all of a sudden vanishes.
    For those interested, just have a quick look through Hedley Thomas' book 'Sick to Death' as that would be a great place to start.

  3. Everything you say has been my experience as well Karen. It took 2 years for QH to investigate the disaster of my Father's care...(by an external consultant who I know was told not to apportion blame, rather to look only at the system faults)...and I had to drive that every step of the way. Of course there were people not interviewed who should have been making sure that points of the Terms of Reference were not validated. There is something so intrinsically sick about QH & their management. They live in fear of litigation so much so that they create what they fear the most. Their constant lack of transparency catapults a somewhat small incident or error onto the beginning of a series of cover-ups from which no one benefits & terribly disadvantages the patient. Unfortunately it's the elderly who suffer the most as their cries for help are written off as the confusion of those with dementia.

  4. Good evening everyone,

    Thanks for the comments on your website SING. It is important these issues are exposed. The best disinfectant is sunlight. I am confident in my evidence in regards to my complaints but evidence means nothing as anyone who has been through this horrid process will know. I am finding in my case that the only way to get action is through exposure of the issues these agencies try so hard to hide. I am lucky to have been supported in my efforts by Rob Messenger.
    He is a true unsung hero who has been trying to highlight this issue regarding dysfunctional reguslators in the health industry now for years. He has been knocked around, knocked down, laughed at and kicked so many times for trying to expose these issues and he is still fighting. he is doing that because he knows what I know, people are dying, people are being maimed and hurt by dodgy doctors who continue to practice despite atrocious records of complaints. I will win this battle I have been in for years, partly because I will persist even in the face of adversity and partly because I am supported by many good people. This issue is far to important to ignore. If there are any doctors or nurses out there (and i know there are plenty of good ones sick of this system too) that want to speak out you can contact me. I would be happy to share my story and any advice.

    1. Dear Ms Barber
      Thank you so much for having the courage to speak up and to persist in something which has to be done, if Queensland is not to continue to be mired in practices more closely aligned to Third World than to First World. I too have had first hand experience with the problems associated with trying to get 'justice' for a serious and valid complaint about a medical provider: a mean, threatening, domineering and very aggressive man who certainly bluffed those in the Health Care entity I complained about him to. Many Queenslanders will support you Ms Barber, rest assured of that. We must not give up until we have won the battle.

  5. Thank you Jo-Anna for your response. I am happy to publish it on SING
    Your fortitude and courage is to be admired by all of those "good ones sick of the system too" as you have rightly stated. Another Pubic Interest Whistleblower left the country and returned to Canada late last year after the terrible mistreatment she endured at the hands of those in positions of power.
    This website began with the belief that exposure is the way to go using good quality media and displaying documented evidence.
    Let the general public make up their own mind when the evidence is clear and irrefutably presented to them.
    You are truly fighting the good fight and deserve the status very few obtain - Public Interest Whistleblower.
    Onward and Upward
    Regards
    Karen Maree Smith

  6. Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "SING WELCOMES WHISTLEBLOWING WOMAN JO BARBER TO TH...":

    QH being flawed is an understatement.I have endured long term ongoing severe bulling and harassment from my colleaugues. Why ? I dont know the only reason I can think of is because I spoke out for the aged care residents I worked with and because I did my job properly, in other words I gave these aged care residents the care they not only needed but also the care they deserved to have when my colleaugues constantly complained about the workload and cut every corner possible to make their life easier. By doing my job as to what is required and acting with integrity I have been treated like a criminal .I have had to answer endless complaints and allegations by my colleaugues all in a bid to "get rid of me " because I wouldn't cover up their wrong doings.I went on sick leave when it all became too much and now find even though I have been cleared to return to work QH will not return me anywhere.What is wrong with this organisation ?
    Endless complaints to supervisors re: the bullies fell on deaf ears.I am fighting to get my job back to no avail as no one is listening not even the higher powers that control QH.
    Hard working honest staff who have integrity are stripped of everything their job, income and sense of self worth and are left with nothing .The bullies prevail as usual .Is there not one person within the Qld Government who will stand up for not only me but for others who have come forward to expose wrongdoings and " We need to listen to what this person is saying ".
    To all the people who are doing the wrong thing and covering up the truth just remember Australia is an ageing population and there is a very good chance that you or someone you know will end up in the care of these bullies that you are now protecting.
    Going public is the only way to expose these wrongdoings.

  7. My name is Greg Williams and I work closely with whistleblower Jo Barber and her support person Rob Messenger. The Chair of the CMC, Ross Martin, interviewed Jo and Rob last Monday. The hostility shown to Jo by the CMC was an outrage. Google the interview and you will see what I men. The CMC is a part of the problem and not part of the solution. Queenland Health, HQCC, AHPRA and Queensland police allow doctors to kill patients due to their incompetence and criminal behaviour. Watch this scandal unfold this week in the media.

  8. SING is a website full of evidence of wrongdoing gathered over many years.
    Compelling evidence has never been enough to see those committing abuse, neglect and assault of our vulnerable elderly and disabled citizens, brought to justice.
    Compelling evidence has never been enough to see those who bully, vilify and intimidate credible staff who speak out in the public interest and for the common good, brought to justice.
    Compelling evidence has never been enough to see those in positions of power stop playing 'Pass the Parcel' and 'Shoot the Messenger' and actually listen to so-called protected Public Interest Whistleblowers.
    Eventually you come to the decision that they really do not care about anything but cover-up and retaining the status quo.
    The answer comes down to EXPOSURE, as stated many times on this website.
    To those who have already obtained the status of Protected Public Interest Whistleblower - continue to speak out, but do it publicly.
    Attend the conferences when you are asked to give a speech;
    Attend Universities and speak to the students when you are asked to speak;
    Say 'yes' and give a phone interview when an overseas entity wants you to tell of your experiences as a so-called protected Whistleblower;
    Do the radio interviews, TV interviews, documentaries, magazine articles, conferences etc. Anything to get the message out to the general public. It is in their best interest to know the truth;
    Lobby this newly, elected government to fulfill its promises.

    1. Very good, but to get exposure the forth estate must be genuinely interested. For a lot of seniors who are not on Facebook the exposure thing gets too difficult, and please don't think that it's only health workers who experience this, the loved ones of harmed patients really don't have any avenues for justice apart from the named government agencies, who conduct investigations with an almost incestious vigor. CMC to QH's ESU =dead end.Same for HQCC, AHPRA, local health area managers just keep their heads in the sand,arses in the air, hoping the flack passes them by. Deny, delay and obfuscate seems to be the directive from above(which even after the governmental change has not been cleaned out). Senior Beattie/Bligh appointed sycophants still occupy positions of power and are still able to cover-up the corrupt actions which occurred in the past, but this needs resolution in the present time so as to prevent them happening in the future.

  9. For any Qld health whistleblowers that want to chat feel free to contact me via a facebook page I have established called "Whistleblowers United". You can coment on the open page which is a closed group of whistleblowers from mainly health in Queensland and the Qld Police service or send me a message via the site and I will respond personally. I am with Greg, watch what is about to blow in the media this week. With work, the right support and the right strategy anything is possible.

  10. To Jo Barber, I have been trying to get the Police and the relevant Govt Depts to access legal aid for my elderly mother who was defrauded out of her home. What I uncovered was a legal system that bends over backwards to protect corrupt lawyers. I can produce the documents that shows the fraudlent actions by the lawyer, but no one I approached was interested. When I read your story it was almost word for word what I had been through, only this is a rogue group of lawyers in Queensland who are doing this crime to the elderly. I have approached our local member Gavin King to speak with the Premier and the Attorney General about this matter. Who do you trust to hand over your documents for verification about the fraud? We wanted to set a precedent in the courts to stop the abuse. I have no faith in the Qld Police Force, they do not investigate crimes against the elderly especially fraud.I should also add that we are Aboriginal, females 60 and 83 years. I trust you Jo Barber, would you help us get justice and stop the 40,000 reported cases of elder abuse, one third will be defrauded out of their homes and left homeless, that could be you or me one day. Please help us we have tried EVERYONE!
