PREMIER ANNA BLIGH AND MINISTER PAUL LUCAS
QUEENSLAND HEALTH CANNOT CONTINUE TO TERMINATE THE EMPLOYMENT OF PUBLIC INTEREST WHISTLEBLOWERS OR BULLY INFORMANTS WHO SPEAK OUT AGAINST WRONGDOING.
QUEENSLAND HEALTH CANNOT CONTINUE TO SUSPEND THOSE EMPLOYEES SPEAKING OUT IN GOOD FAITH AND THEN SYSTEMATICALLY AND DELIBERATELY SET OUT TO DESTROY THEIR REPUTATIONS AND CAREERS.
QUEENSLAND HEALTH CANNOT CONTINUE TO KEEP IN PLACE MANAGEMENT WHO ARE OBVIOUSLY NOT FIT TO HOLD THEIR POSITIONS.
SING SUGGESTS THAT THE OLD ADAGE 'GOOD MANAGEMENT MANAGE - BAD MANAGEMENT BULLY', FITS THE INSIDIOUS CULTURE THAT IS QUEENSLAND HEALTH'S MANAGEMENT APTLY.Please see Susan's interview with Ros Bates MP on YouTube - (1a) Qld Health bullies - YouTube.

Call me cynical however after going public who is going to employ her now! If they have not sacked her I would not be going anywhere if I was her!
ReplyDeleteIt is now the end of 2010. Another year is coming and nothing is changing. I am an AIN that works at Eventide. I have been bullied to the point where as i had a breakdown. I always thought that i as an AIN i was a target for managements bulling behaviour? I am wrong. Management are targeting each other. Sickening. It is all high paying jobs for the girls and god help anyone that gets in there way.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read Susan's story. Judging by the letter posted on SING - Queensland Health's bullying and harassment culture is still alive and well. Good on you Susan for going public. Queensland Health hate exposure and will not be happy with your story.
ReplyDeleteBut what other way is there for those speaking out? Going through the proper channels is useless. We are led to believe that Queensland Health want staff to report wrongdoing, but employees know this is just propaganda - don't we?
Queensland Health bureaucrats are well aware that there are bullies in their midst and still prefer to cover - up this up, which in turn makes their job much easier.
Bullying certainly is alive, well & encouraged in Queensland Health.
ReplyDeleteThe above post is so true & correct.
If all Qld Health employees abided by the Code of Conduct there would be no issues such as bullying. The Code of Conduct is a "joke" to the bullies too. No one owns the business therefore there is no responsibility.
It seems that Qld health employees are well aware that there are 2 main reasons for dismissal, 1. assault, 2. fraud.
This leaves so much room for the power hungry bullies to continue their tyrades. Qld Health are in a habit of selecting supervisors that amount to Foxes in charge of the chicken pens.
I am a Queensland Health employee & have been suffering severe bullying for the past 7-8years & still am. Going through the right channels has only made the bullying toward me more severe & widerspread.
Little wonder Queensland Health is broke & still on the downhill slide.
Good on you Susan Dale for going public. When I am in a financial position to do so, I also will go public.
Qld Health is rotten to the core. Bullying and harassment rife - management and staff lie and gang up on those who are conscientious and trying to improve the situation. Too many "managers" and few indians. They hire managers from other countries who do not have a clue about the job they are hired to do.
ReplyDeleteQualifications are faked, doctored and they have no experience, but still they get the jobs but what wonderful stooges they make for the hierarchy!! If you become a "whistleblower" in the hope of improving Qld Health....forget it. They will lie on legal doucments and have no morals or ethics. Qld Health culture ......can't change and they will break you if you try!!!!
This week harassment, bulling, code of conduct issues. Qld Health continues with under experienced managers and team leaders with piss poor people management skills. UNION well i question what we pay for, 3 DAYS NO CONTACT.. Had no value for buck for my 8yrs. YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF ISOLATED AND UNSUPPORTED, YOU WILL BE TOLD "YOU ARE TO SENSITIVE" THESE ISSUES YOU WILL BE TREATED LIKE YOU ARE THE ENEMY. NO ONE IN QLD HEALTH WILL SUPPORT YOU. Management have to support the idiots they put there..DO NO ATTEND ANY MEETINGS WITHOUT SUPPORT, OR BE READY TO BE LIED TO AND HAVE FULL DENIAL THROWN AT YOU.
ReplyDeleteTELL ME IF I HAVE THE PROBLEM, I RARELY TAKE SICK DAYS, 180HRS BANKED, SIMILAR HRS WITH RDOs AND ANNUAL LEAVE, LOVE MY WORK, HAVE NEVER BEEN CHALLENGED FOR MY PRACTICE, HOWEVER CHALLENGED RECENTLY FOR SICK LEAVE,IF SICK YOU ARE SICK, NOW THREATENED TO MEET WITH THE TL WHO LIES AND IS RESISTANT TO THE OBVIOUS, OR ALTERNATIVELY MEET WITH THE DIRECTOR AND LINE MANAGER, IF I WISH TO HAVE A SUPPORT PERSON AND THE UNION PRESENT. SO OFTEN UNABLE TO HAVE APPROVED LEAVE AS OTHER STAFF ARE PRIORITIZED. HAVE PUT UP WITH THIS FOR 5 YEARS, NOW THINKING ITS ME..NAVIGATED THE WEBSITE FOR BULLYING, ALL LINKED AND PRONE FOR MANIPULATION, AND NO CONFIDENTIALITY GUARANTEED.
IN SUMMARY YOU WILL NOT GAIN ANYTHING BY FOLLOWING THE GUIDELINES,POLICIES AND PROCEDURES OF QLD HEALTH, YOU ARE BEING SET UP TO FAIL...
SEEK LEGAL REPRESENTATION AND GO FOR THE THROAT.. PIECE OF MIND AND THE LAWYERS MOTIVATION HAS A FINANCIAL INTEREST TO WIN,
I TRIED THE RIGHT WAY, AND HUMAN WAY..DID NOT WORK...
Hi all.
ReplyDeleteThe treatment Nurses receive in Queensland Health , and in particular Gold Coast health is disgusting. Bullying is rife, and what is worse in the open.
Around the same time as the above letter by Williams was sent I was bullied by Gold Coast / QH management to the extent that I am still recovering psychologically now 2 years later.
Treatment towards nurses is evil by pathetic psychopaths that seem to bully to hold onto their on sense of power, self worth and position. Not all managers their are bad, but it seems that Nursing management does attract evil disgusting sociopaths with psychotic tendencies.
I can assure you the bullying is not limited to Qld Health Nursing staff!!! I am a Social Worker and have been subjected to ongoing bullying for over fourteen months now. Have submitted grievance which was so-called "investigated" and was merely another case of management sticking together and ignoring the facts.
ReplyDeleteSo, where do you go? Both WorkCover and QComp have believed the lies told by Qld Health Management; "Anonymous" above suggests legal representation, a suggestion which I am very willing to follow. But who? One company I approached appeared willing in the first place but wiped me once I was knocked back by WorkCover. I KNOW I am in the right but don't know where to turn next.
Sixty Minutes or A Current Affair is beginning to look like an alternative.
I to am a social worker in Q health. I even had witnesses to the abuse but they are too frightened write a statement for fear of losing their job or being the next in line for the bullying. The so called investigation was done in house not by someone impartial. The abuser told her story which was taken as fact. I was treated like an idiot. Eventually I will post the letters for all to see. I think bullied staff should approach the media as a group. Some of my colleagues are shattered including myself. They put people in management who have no people skills who have no idea of how to manage staff. They just lie so easily and have no empathy or conscience. Psychopaths are many in management positions
Deletemake a day or email address to get everyone involved who has been bullied. maybe 60minutes may take on, if a few people stick toegether and not leave it to one person .
DeleteI am sure they will have genuine cases. a total overload more than likely.
Bullying in QH is endemic. I was bullied in Cape York last year. There was an investigation which must have cost thousands but still no outcome. QH modus operadum is "delay as long as possible and hopefully it will go away".
ReplyDeleteI ended up resigning for my own sanity.
Dept of Health don't care, union useless, CMC ineffectual and as for the IWSU - what a waste of space they are.
I can't stand it any longer - going back to SA where life is more civilised.
I to have been bullied for years by my line manager at qld health. The most recent is I have been 6 weeks without pay even though I have drs cert. they refused to sign off my leave form for qsuper.I have spent many days ringing as high as I can to get answers and then union members who do nothing. the financial hardship this has caused my family is treated as a joke. They dont give a dam I am treated as if I am doing something wrong. yep where do you go. who to turn to. well there isnt anyone interested.
ReplyDelete60 minutes with everyone who is willing to join you.I am sure some deal could be arranged with 60 minutes, that also protects the worker if all other avenues fail
DeleteWell 2017 Don't think the practices of QH in relation to reporting bullying and harassment have changed. In my opinion toxic culture persists, the organisation is endemic with a diseased culture. The QN&MU are none responsive to please assist. I feel horizontal violence is rife. The extent of the culture being protected by government departments and agencies supposedly ment for investigating these situations for public safety is a concern. Please just stop and think before faulse accusations and allegations are lodged and uncovered as untrue. By then the public reputation of individuals trying to get new jobs is unjustly destroyed. Lives are being affected by staff retalitative tactics. I met Susan Dale in 2010 and believed her story. I continued working but ended up walking out one day as the behaviors of staff were allowed to go unchecked. Now no job, no income, hope the bullies are satisfied. This is written without prejudice.
